FAMILY: A Jockey Club Initiative for a Harmonious Society Cohort Study Result Announcement

"60% of Hong Kong families receive a passing grade on health
 10-point Healthy Living Index (HELI)"

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust funded and in collaboration with the School of Public Health, The University of Hong Kong, "FAMILY: A Jockey Club Initiative for a Harmonious Society" project (FAMILY project) has successfully completed the first phase of household survey in March 2011 with data from 8,481 families (18,906 individuals). The survey covered a variety of topics including family health, happiness and harmony index.

A press conference will be held on Wednesday (21st December, 2011)to report on the health index of Hong Kong individuals and families using the "10-point Healthy Living Index (HELI)to assess their smoking and drinking habits, vegetable and fruit intake, adequacy of physical activities, BMI and blood pressure etc. An online interactive calculator will also be introduced to keep track of health condition.  Details are as follows:
