Nearly 1,000 HKU staff members and students joined a dialogue with Honorary Graduate of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) Yao Ming today (November 28) at Loke Yew Hall or in nearby classrooms through webcast. Yao shared with audience in the dialogue a wide variety of topics well beyond his basketball and sports including his charity work, his studies and family.
Yao Ming had been conferred the degree of Doctor of Social Sciences honoris causa on Tuesday (November 27) at the University’s 187th Congregation for his contributions to sport and HIV/AIDS advocacy.
