HKDSE top scorers admitted to HKU to meet the press this afternoon

The 2017 Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) Main Round offer results were announced this morning This year, the University of Hong Kong (HKU) is pleased to have admitted five top scorers who have achieved 5** in 7 subjects.

HKU will hold a press briefing this afternoon, and have invited four (Angela Sze Yik-yan, Richard Choy Wai-chak, Esther Tang Wai-chi, Leung Kwun-hong) of these top scorers to attend. Two more HKDSE high-achievers, including Kwong Hing-tim who achieved 5** in 6 subjects and admitted to BBA (International Business and Global Management), as well as ‘Cancer Fighter’ Law Tsz-fung, who scored 5** in 5 subjects and admitted to MBBS, will also be there for interview.

The Future philanthropist –Kwong Hing-tim
Kony Kwong Hing-tim scoring 5** in 6 subjects from St. Joseph College is admitted to BBA (IBGM) programme. Kwong is an innovative student with entrepreneurship spirit. His invention "Illuminashoe”- a disinfecting, water-repelling and ventilating system for footwear, won the champion in the Joint School Science Exhibition (JSSE) in 2015. He is also one of the HKSAR Outstanding Students in 2016.

The Cancer fighter – Law Tsz-fung
Law Tsz-fung is admitted to HKU MBBS. He was diagnosed with leukaemia and had suspended his study due to illness. He immediately resumed his Secondary 5 study while he entered the recovery stage. Despite his frequent absence from school for the treatments, he still insisted and managed to catch up his study with the great supports from classmates and teachers. Finally, he finished all the treatments and achieved an outstanding result in HKDSE and is now accepted into the MBBS Programme.
