"Regarding the HKU security recruitment advertisement circulated online, the University would like to clarify that it is indeed recruiting security staff to handle recent security activities on campus, but would like to stress that it has never engaged the services of the said recruitment agency, and there are no additional terms stating that ex-military or ex-police staff will be given priority in the recruitment exercise. The University would like to express its deep regret regarding the rumours and misunderstanding."
