Our People

Prof. Hongbin CAI

Professor Hongbin Cai is the Dean and Chair of Economics at HKU Business School. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University. He previously taught at UCLA and served as Dean of Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management from 2010 to 2017. An elected Fellow of the Econometric Society, Professor Cai joined HKU Business School in 2017. His research interests include game theory and the Chinese economy. He also serves as a member of several HKSAR Government committees, including the Chief Executive's Policy Unit Expert Group.
